The Newton In Between...

Remember the Apple Newton? There was one really cool model, the very last one..

Here are the happy words that relate to using the eMate 300 today.

Here is a Take-Apart for the eMate 300.

You can find many things at the United Network of Newton Archives.

Power Adapter

The eMate 300 used a 7.5 vdc 9 watt power adapter, Model H0165 (ADP-9AB), center positive. This adapter ends in a plug with a 4.75mm outer diameter. The internal pin (inside the eMate jack) is 1.5 mm in diameter. [Power Plugs and Jacks]

Battery Knowledge

  • The original battery pack is "eMate Rechargeable Battery", Apple item #H0232, circa 1997. The original cells were 1200 mAh each.

  • The eMate 300 has a battery pack that is relatively approachable. That is, it can be opened and rebuilt without a welder and x-ray vision. Cells are available from BatterySpace.  They have single cells as ProdID# 222, and 20-packs as ProdID 64.
